June 16 - Let's Make Electronic Music! 4pm workshop at Allied Media Conference at Wayne State University. We will build layers of sound together using Mr Scott`s suitcase of knobs, electric violins, rhythm instruments, our voices and help from the violinists of Detroit Youth Volume. Register.
May 27 - Detroit Youth Volume presents on a panel "Access and Equity in the Suzuki Community: Strategies for Successful Engagement" at the Suzuki Biennial Conference. Suzuki teachers Calida Jones, Mark Mutter, and Ashley Nelson, along with facilitator Dan Browning, will share their insights and experiences educating students and teachers who don’t typically have access to the Suzuki method. With the engagement of session participants, panelists plan to discuss supportive strategies for the wider Suzuki community to deepen our efforts to make a first-class Suzuki education truly accessible to prospective students, parents, and teachers, regardless of their economic or social status.

Detroit Youth Volume can be seen at events that celebrate youth, culture & community-building. We especially love to put our youth in concert with local musicians of color. Paid performances are an earned-income strategy for the non-profit. Donated performances may be provided for events that align with our mission if performance honorariums are unavailable.
