"When love is great, much can be accomplished." ~Shinichi Suzuki
Currently about 35 students study violin and viola with Detroit Youth Volume using the Suzuki method and place-based education with local musicians. Traditionally, students begin playing between the ages of 3 and 5 years old and continue through high school.
DYV accepts tuition-paying students year-round and a offers a limited number of full scholarships in the Fall of each year. Our waiting list for scholarships is very long. You may request to be added to the waiting list by sending us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with your child's name/birthday. When we have openings, you will be asked to fill out an application and provide documentation of financial need. In the meantime, check out the following low-cost violin programs for youth in Detroit: Weekend School of Music, Community Music School, Notes for Notes.
